Life truly does get in the way sometimes…
It’s been nearly a month since I’ve done a gay and lesbian fiction update for the Amazon Kindle. I do apologize for that! I know, I know, I promised every two weeks at a minimum. I’ll try not to let it happen again.
Given that it’s been since September 29th that I’ve looked at these books, I’m hoping to see some wholesale changes. Let’s get to it!
First up, as always, we have the highly reader rated lesbian fiction. We have an old favorite by Fannie Flag, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, that has – amazingly – never been on any of our Kindle lists now appearing at number five. You have to love that! As of this writing it had more than 250 reader reviews! We also have a newcomer to the list at number nine, from out of nowhere, BrookLyn’s Journey
by Coffey Brown. Coffey is a first time author writing primarily for an LGBT teen audience in this one because, as she says, books like this didn’t exist for her when she was growing up.
On the “trending popular” side of lesbian fiction for the Kindle we have wholesale changes with five books that have never before been on this list. They include a new mystery by lesbian favorite Gerri Hill, Keepers of the Cave. I need to take a month away more often! Here are the top 5:
1. Something So Grand by Lynn Galli
2. Out on the Panhandle (The Adventures of Decky and Charlie) by R. E. “Decky” Bradshaw
3. Almost Heaven by Susan X. Meagher
4. Keepers of the Cave by Gerri Hill
5. After the Dawn by Stephanie Motes
Now, let’s talk about the guys. The gay highly reader rated fiction list had been pretty stagnant with few new entries – just some jockeying around – for a long time. Has it changed in the past month? Let’s take a look…
Well, frankly, we still have mainly some jockeying around but, there is one brand new entrant, the gay older teen themed book, Don’t Let Me Go by J. H. Trumble. It’s solidly holding its own at number 10 with lots of rave ratings by readers.
On the flip side of gay fiction, the trending popular list, like the lesbian list, we have wholesale changes. Frankly though, this list for the guys ALWAYS moves! The gay top 10 by rating may stay the same but the boys keep reading books and wracking up sales for authors that cater to gay readers. Here are the all new top 5:
1. Tigerland by Sean Kennedy
2.Magpie (Avian Shifters) by Kim Dare
3.A Rookie Move by Sam B. Morgan
4.But For You (A Matter of Time) by Mary Calmes
5. An Unconventional Courtship by Scotty Cade
That’s it for this week! Overall, there are lots of great new books to consider. Enjoy!
