Okay, everyone here knows that I love, love, love a good mystery. I’ve said it many times. Well, I don’t care who you are; lesbian, gay or straight, you have to read this book if you like mysteries. I’m not going to go really deep into the plot of the book that’s the subject of this review, because doing so would totally ruin the book for you but, be warned, major curves ahead!
The book I’m talking about is the latest from author Drake Braxton, Missing. It’s burning up both the paperback and Kindle charts, and with good reason. What we have here is a great whodunit with a twist that comes in about the middle of the book that you’ll just absolutely never expect. You won’t see it coming, I promise you!
In this, Braxton’s first book (yes, really!), we get the story of Blain and the love of his life, his husband Manny. The two travel back to Blain’s hometown in Alabama – a place he hasn’t been in many years, especially since coming out as gay – to attend Blain’s high school reunion. While at the reunion, Manny disappears…poof! He’s gone! Where did he go and who’s responsible? A full scale investigation ensues in a small Alabama town that’s not at all comfortable with the relationship of the men and the attention the disappearance of a gay man draws to their town. But wait! Everything is not always as it seems…
Now, some books that throw readers such a major curve, leave the reader feeling cheated. This isn’t one of them. Trust me on that. Missing is a story that just gets better, the deeper in you get. I was totally sucked into it and I’m totally positive most of you will be too.
Frankly, I can’t wait to read Drake Braxton’s next book! Get busy sir! You’ve got your work cut out for you to top this one!

Shelly – thanks so much for this review! I greatly appreciate it and I am hard at work on the next one! {wink}
